Kate stumbled into her first Yoga class with Linda Healey in 1993 to help with the stress of TEE exams. It was love at first twist, and she went on to practice with Iyengar teacher Shane Moody in Margaret River and then to complete a teacher training in 1999 with Nicky Knoff in Cairns, QLD. Over the following years Kate taught in various Yoga schools around Australia.
In 2007 Kate was introduced to Ashtanga and in 2009 began daily Mysore practice
with Moksha at Yoga Om. Her love and commitment to Mysore style has deepened
under Moksha’s guidance, with the practice now an integral part of her life.
This passion has also taken her to study abroad with senior Ashtanga teachers
Tim Miller and Rolf Naujokat.
Kate teaches from her love for, and experience of, the practice. With deep respect for the Ashtanga system, Kate’s classes are dynamic yet light hearted, and influenced by what she has learnt from her teachers past and present. Kate also has an advanced diploma in ayurveda and panchakarma therapy.
" Yoga continually inspires and challenges me. Every day I step on my mat, it is a new experience. Yoga teaches me about life’s paradoxes: of freedom through commitment, of stillness in motion. I love the way it makes my body feel and I love what it does to for my mind...it is a rich adventure.
I honour the teachers who continue to guide me along this path and feel blessed to be part of an ever expanding Yoga community."
